Microsoft Office 2007 Test Drive

If you're interested in trying out Office 2007 without loading Beta software on your computer, check out the Microsoft Office 2007 Test Drive, which connects you to a remote desktop session on a server pre-loaded with Office 2007 through a Citrix connection (Yes, Microsoft is using Citrix instead of Terminal Server for this. Go figure.)

The biggest thing of note is the new "ribbon bar" at the top of Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. This takes advantage of the increased monitor size of today's computers to make menus a lot more useful and present more options at once then the old pull-down menu bars. Outlook 2007 also has a folder to display RSS feeds. (RSS is an Internet-based news feed format, if you're not familiar with the term. Very useful for staying up o date.)

I think this is all very cool, and I like the ribbon bar and the little enhancements everywhere.
